📊 Chart of the Month
Powered by GPFO Research
Swiss single family offices are becoming an increasingly material part of Switzerland’s financial ecosystem. The sector’s estimated aggregate wealth has risen from CHF 600 billion to CHF 785 billion in two years - an increase of around 30%. While part of that growth reflects stronger capital markets, it also points to the expanding scale and visibility of Switzerland’s SFO population.

📰 Headlines
SpaceX IPO creates a new generation of wealth. SpaceX’s IPO was the largest in history, not only was it a market spectacle; it was a major wealth-creation event. Reuters reported that the company priced its offering at $135 per share, raising $75 billion and valuing SpaceX at roughly $1.77 trillion, before shares jumped 19% on debut and pushed its market value above $2 trillion, subsequently, shares have fallen. For family offices, the significance is not only public-market access to one of the defining private companies of the last two decades. It is the creation of a new cohort of ultra-wealth: founders, early employees, engineers, venture backers and secondary-market investors whose paper gains are now becoming liquid. Singapore tightens and streamlines its single family office framework
Singapore’s revised single family office framework took effect on 15 June 2026. The new framework creates a more straightforward licensing exemption process for qualifying SFOs, while requiring notification to MAS, a relationship with a MAS-licensed bank and an annual return covering assets under management and banking details. It is a useful example of the direction of travel in family office hubs: easier onboarding for legitimate offices, paired with more systematic monitoring. Monetary Authority of Singapore, Baker McKenzieThe wealth transfer starts to show up in philanthropy data. Giving USA’s 2026 report found that US charitable giving rose to $617.2 billion in 2025, crossing the $600 billion mark for the first time. Total giving increased 5.7% in current dollars, or 3.0% after inflation, while bequest giving rose 19.7% to $62.19 billion - the largest increase of any giving source. For family offices, this is one of the more tangible signs that the great wealth transfer is not only moving capital between generations, but also into estates, foundations, donor-advised funds and long-term philanthropic structures.
