📊 Chart of the Month
Powered by GPFO Research
The latest UBS Global Family Office Report shows family offices repositioning for resilience: a record 60% expect to change their strategic asset allocation over the next 12 months, with portfolios being adjusted around geopolitical risk, currency diversification, AI, infrastructure, energy and resources. The chart shows how allocations have shifted over the past decade. In 2016, family office portfolios were led by equities at 27%, followed by private equity at 21% and real estate at 18%. By 2026, equities have become even more dominant at 33%, while fixed income and private equity are level at 17% each. Real estate has fallen sharply to 8%, hedge funds sit at 6%, and private debt has emerged from almost zero in 2016 to 3% in 2026. The overall picture is of a portfolio that is still growth-oriented, but more liquid, more diversified and less dependent on traditional real estate exposure.

📰 Headlines
UBS: Family offices pivot to resilience. UBS GFO Report surveyed 307 family offices across more than 30 markets, representing families with an average net worth of $2.7 billion. The report found that family offices are preparing for a more complex global investment landscape, with rising concern around geopolitical conflict, debt levels and the durability of the US dollar’s reserve status. The dollar point is particularly notable. Sixty-five percent of family offices surveyed expect confidence in the US dollar’s reserve status to weaken. Many are now reassessing USD exposure and looking more closely at the euro and Swiss franc as diversification currencies. UBS, Modus, CNBC
